Darn it, I need more calories……..

I am just full with mostly protein. I am falling short each day and my body is hording. I don’t feel like eating more. I don’t want to add carbs, expecially grains, but those are easy calories. I don’t want to add fat, too much is not good for your heart, but those are easy calories. I don’t want to eat any more protein so now what. Breakfast was 1/2 a banana, 2 egg whites, 3 oz corned beef. 1 T shreadded cheese. Not enough calories and a little high on carbs. Please treat this as a serious question. It is seriously keeping me from losing the last 10 pounds. Ideas?

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.  For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.  For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.  As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

Again zig-zagging………

This works for me

Try this website
http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

This will give your general calorie level for maintenance at the weight you wish to be. If you have a lot to lose, use a weight 5 pounds down from where you are now. Step down slowly.
Then look at your 7 day zig-zag. Zig-Zaging calories, keeps your body guessing and is a bit easier to maintain than a strict same calorie level, (to which your body adjusts). because you have UP days. ;o)

I don’t think the extreme fat loss is a good plan, just “fat loss”. Nice and slow. And everyone varies. Maintenance levels here MAY make you gain. Adjust for your body.

Has been used for body builders. Make it work for you.

Oh, my that is so true. Have a great weekend

Things I have learned……………

1. I have got to drink my water. I usually drink 16 oz of lime or lemon water 1st thing in the morning. This helps cleanse and jump start my day. Plus, I am half asleep at 5 am and don’t notice or protest as much. This is followed by 8 oz of tea. Yep, sorry caffinated.
2. I need to do my situps. I don’t do many, but they have helps pull in my saggy belly. I also hold in my tummy whenever I notice it. This maneuver is More important and more effective than the situps.
3. I can cheat on carbs, but not much. A bite of brownie, a mini candy bar, a small potato, or a small amount of nuts, etc will not affect the weight for me.
4. I must keep my calories up, which is hard when I am low carbing. Meat, and other proteins are VERY filling and I tend not to eat as much.
5. It took 3 weeks eating meals no bigger than my fist to feel satisfied with that volume. No, your stomach does not shrink, but you feel satiated with less volume. It’s a volume thing. This was my dd2’s big suggestion and was very helpful.
6. I can totally trash 1 day, but not 2 in a row. 2 or more and I start climbing again.
7. I feel so much better without grains. My tummy doesn’t hurt, my mouth doesn’t hurt, and it is getting easier to turn down a doughnut.
8. I can not have one  bite of toast, doughnuts, or crackers. I can not stop. It is not like a cookie, or candy. I think it’s not the easy straight sugar for me, I think it’s the wheat.
9.  I have periodically used used a bit of cycling. Not specifically carb cycling. Calorie cycling. I note a larger drop one day following a cycle boost. Not the next day, but the day after. I know that a boost in calories can sometime push a drop in pounds. 135 is my stopping point. I am 5-8 and small in frame. I’m not there yet, but I am getting closer.  I was a skinny youth through about 25. Less weight for me might make me look like a scrawny chicken. I am 52 and I don’t want to lose all my boobs or have too thin a face, which will accentuate my wrinkles. Cycling works and is a good long term eating plan that is livable. I do not eat much if any grains lately. Those are the carbs that I must try to avoid and that I am especially sensitive to.

10. I am not much of a blogger or a buddy, but I try to respond to all posts and love reading all of yours.

I was amused………

See if you can pick out the stuck periods in my graph. So obvious, so easy. I know what I need to do to start that downward motion, now why can’t I just do it?

I’m stuck because………

I’m stuck, because I am choosing to be stuck. The plus part is I am not doing poorly enough to gain. Cool that at least.

I am not drinking enough                                                                                                                       I am not working out at all                                                                                                                     I am not making perfect food choices                                                                                                   I am not getting enough sleep                                                                                                                Most of this is just lack of focus and laziness

In other news……….. I did something wild and crazy and I’m lucky my dd2 didn’t kill me.    DD1 went on Craigslist to see if there were some social groups in the area to join. She did not have a job yet and a lot of her good friends have left the area. She did find a group. I went hmmmmmm. So I went on Craigslist and there wasn’t anything in my area but……. On the personals there was a young fella in the men seeking women area. I thought DD2 has been complaining of not having any friends. This is not true entirely, but her friends are not near by, not working (and she is) and needy. She is a listener and nurturer……. she attracts people who need to talk about their troubles and need nurturing. aaaarrrrgghh. Anyway long story short his tagline was “wanting someone he could take home to mom” I decided to write. I wrote “This is the mom” and asked him a dozen questions. Thought that would be the end, but he wrote back. Answered my questions with a score of about 70. I replied to the same with regard to DD2 in general ways, i.e. non-specific. These all from my alternate email. I sent 20 more questions: political leaning, activities, religious background, financial, birthfamily info. etc. Dang if he didn’t answer those. I replied in a like fashion with info about dd2 in a general way. They have a great deal in common. I set up a cyber date. They are going to chat tonight. Here’s the kicker. I told my dd2 and instead of being horrified (in a teenage way, “Oh mom, how could you?”) she just laughed and laughed. She is so easy going. Sure she said, she would chat with him. Bet they become good friends and chat buddies.

So, how ’bout that…………………

oops, here’s the pic…….

Hat switch

Aren’t we all different……..

This makes me laugh. Aren’t we all different. My daughters are soooo very different in build and personality. DD! has such a large head and is 6 feet tall. DD2 has such a small head and is 5-5. How does this happen? :0) On this day we were waiting for a very late bus and they switched hats. LOLOLOLOLOL
