For me, it’s all about control…………

Ok, I love to be in control. Nothing makes me happier than when everything is marching along under control. When I am overweight, and it doesn’t have to be by much, I am out of control. Excess weight drives more gain, for me. My house is out of control, mess creates more mess. I am using Buddyslim for weight accountability and Fly Lady for household control. My problem is that I am only a little overweight and a little messy. Being in that position does not produce quite enough pressure for change. And I am lazy. When I get 20 pounds over my desired goal, I refocus, when I get within 10 pounds I don’t feel the pressure and slack off. Where can we all find the motivation to persevere. What motivates you?

I have enough control issues with simple/processed carbs and chocolate. I can be thankful at least that I haven’t added those calories to my list of issues. I have so little control. I’m glad I never started drinking. I’ll bet I’d like it - way too much………..

Man, oh man………..

Ok, I know that the simple carbs are not my friends. I know that wheat and other gluten based grains, even sprouted hurt my stomach. So why do I seek them out. Pumpkin bread for breakfast…….. are you kidding. My stomach still hurts. I try not to bake, because I eat it. My poor hubby, my poor daughter. They lose out. And I respond so strongly to wheat. I almost go into a carb coma. I get very sleepy. I feel great when I eat protein, but I WANT BAKED GOODS……….. aaaargh.

Ya, I know all about rice bread and sprouted wheat. Still hurts my tummy and makes me sleepy. Some rice breads are yummy too. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Whey 2 go……….

I needed to get more calories in and one of my buddies suggested adding a protein shake. I am going to give this a shot. I have hear of the antioxident qualities of acai so I think I will get that flavor although blueberries have much the same. I’ll let you know how they taste. Anyway here is a coupon site. Note they cost about $1 a packet so not cheap. But……. if  you buy a soda, coffee or other drink a day, this might be a good idea instead.

I am so ready for a change and yet it panics me. I want to sell all our cars, I want to sell our house and move, I want to study and start a new career, am I mid-lifer or what? I love our home, yes it has problems and when I think of moving I panic. I raised my children here. I love my job, but more money and a more professional job would be great. Ok, I hate my cars. That would not cause me any pain to change. Is it the fall weather that is making me want to jump into crazy decisions? Who knows?

But just for today, I will dust the home I own, drive the beater to work, and enjoy my simple job. I am feeling the pressure of time and age, I think. Squash it down and drink more water.

Darn it, I need more calories……..

I am just full with mostly protein. I am falling short each day and my body is hording. I don’t feel like eating more. I don’t want to add carbs, expecially grains, but those are easy calories. I don’t want to add fat, too much is not good for your heart, but those are easy calories. I don’t want to eat any more protein so now what. Breakfast was 1/2 a banana, 2 egg whites, 3 oz corned beef. 1 T shreadded cheese. Not enough calories and a little high on carbs. Please treat this as a serious question. It is seriously keeping me from losing the last 10 pounds. Ideas?

This will give your general calorie level for maintenance at the weight you wish to be. If you have a lot to lose, use a weight 5 pounds down from where you are now. Step down slowly.
Then look at your 7 day zig-zag. Zig-Zaging calories, keeps your body guessing and is a bit easier to maintain than a strict same calorie level, (to which your body adjusts). because you have UP days. ;o)

I don’t think the extreme fat loss is a good plan, just “fat loss”. Nice and slow. And everyone varies. Maintenance levels here MAY make you gain. Adjust for your body.
