Another monday

Exciting event. My dd2 is signing an apartment lease. One small step for mom, one giant leap for dd1 and dd2. They will be sharing an apartment near a university. I hope they enjoy the time together. I always wished I could live with my sis, but I got married straight out of college. Anyway it’s dated and not perfect, but they are dating this apt. Not marrying it. They can look at something else next year.

Meanwhile on the diet front.   Bought a new digital scale. The numbers on mine ( of 30 years) have shrunk and I can’t read it. The new one requires a six week course to figure out. My dd2 had explained it three times.

Down to 158 today. Working hard to keep my carbs down, although I had a small pastry last night at a dinner party. I made my stomach hurt. Wheat just kills me. Not celiac or certainly not as tough as that, but I sure notice wheat.

The day after the 4th

I guess I am lucky in a way. Because I was volunteering at a fundraiser for the high school an because my parents didn’t feel like celebrating the 4th and because my children were working and then going with friends………. I wasn’t exposed to all the yummy food I like at 4th of July picnics. No potato salad, chips, brownies, BBQ chicken and corn on the cob for me.

I at carefully and boringly. The bad news is I didn’t lose. The Good news is that I didn’t gain.  I’ll take it.

Don’t know if this is true, but I always add flax seed to my cottage cheese. You’ll get used to the slightly bitter taste.

Fish oil chews, yummy, but………

Today I am down 1/2 lb, but the site won’t take a fraction loss. I had a good atkins day I think, but I may have overdone the carbs. I think I am at 31, but I may have over estimated the salsa and sour cream in the salad at lunch. AND sadly I went to GNC and they gave me a fish oil orange chew. It was great, but whoa, 4 grams of sugar. Who knew.

When my daughter was at clarinet lessons I walked for the 1/2 hour.

Dinner was pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce, green beans, mushrooms, summer squash, onions, garlic, AND radishes. Yes, radishes, did you know they are good sauted? Everyone else also had brown rice and foccia bread with bruscheta. Yummy salad with spinach, sunflower seeds, clementines and grated cheese.

Water, water, everywhere

Did alright with my water. About 72 oz again. I am having to wash my comforter. The dog watered it last night. Pre-seizure activity I think. Soaked the comforter, sheets, and mattress cover and I had just washed all that morning. Lot of water for a 11 lb dog. : D

I took her out and shut her in the entry. about 20 minutes later she had a seizure. Really frustrating. I am giving her her Phenobarb late to get her through the night, and I have tweaked her Potassium Bromide; although she has only been on the up dose 2 weeks.

Anyway, had a good upday yesterday. About 1500 calories and 20 grams carbs. I need to get more carbs from veggies though. 2 short walks and stretching. This Atkins stuff makes you lose your appetite. Will give you the low down on my weight when I get back from stretching.

I am down another 1/2 lb but the weigh in only goes in full pounds. I’m pleased though

July 1 just at home

Just working my volunteer list. Not much luck.

Yesterday I did well on water, about 80 oz. I am still doing an Atkinesque diet. Meats and processed meats are soooo salty. Normally I don’t have any thirst reflex so that at least is good. I must be in K, but I don’t measure so not sure. I hit my mini goal so I need to reset.
